Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction + Design-Build + Preconstruction Leadership
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year

- Analyze two‑dimensional drawings and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for large construction projects.
- Prepare and submit RFQs (Request for Quotations) and track bids to ensure competitive pricing.
- Estimate the cost of equipment, labor, and materials required for projects.
- Work closely with project managers to develop budgets and ensure that projects are completed within these budgets.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best prices for materials and services.
- Use software tools such as OTS, Sage Estimating, and Procore to prepare estimates and track project costs.
- Develop written proposals for clients, detailing the scope of work, timelines, and costs.
- Participate in design‑build projects, providing cost estimates during the design phase to guide decision‑making.
- Continually update knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs to ensure accurate estimates.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, specifically with large commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and technical specifications.
- Experience with cost estimation software such as OTS, Sage Estimating, and Procore.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of successful vendor negotiations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and persuasive proposals.
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar certification would be an asset.
