Construction Superintendent - Commercial Projects Hood Construction | Full-Time | On-Site in Greenville, SC Build Projects That Make an Impact

Hood Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead on‑site operations across a diverse portfolio of projects, including healthcare, education, hospitality, municipal, and historic renovations. This role is ideal for a hands‑on construction leader who thrives in the field, values teamwork and craftsmanship, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

As the primary on‑site leader, you will oversee daily construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout, coordinating teams, managing schedules, and ensuring successful project execution every step of the way.

What You'll Do
  • Lead all field operations from preconstruction planning through punch list completion
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and inspection activities
  • Monitor project schedules, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions to keep work on track
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Conduct site meetings and maintain clear communication with project teams, clients, architects, and stakeholders
  • Perform quality control inspections and document daily progress using Procore or similar construction management software
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field personnel while coordinating multiple trades and project activities
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, building codes, and company standards
  • Promote and enforce a strong culture of jobsite safety and accountability
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects
  • Proven success managing complex projects involving multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building systems, safety regulations, and quality control practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical construction documents
  • Proficiency with Procore, Plan Grid, or similar construction management platforms
  • Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with healthcare, education, hospitality, municipal, or historic renovation projects
  • OSHA certification or other construction safety credentials
  • Experience managing projects from site mobilization through final completion
