Summary/Objective:
Promote the company mission while leading hands-on work of a crew(s) and/or Trade Partners to produce construction units assigned by a Superintendent or Project Manager. Ensure the crew operates within Harper’s safety and quality standards. Plan and assign work; track and account for labor hours and productivity; supervise activities of a construction crew(s) and/or Trade Partners.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main contact for project site communications and decisions.
  • Oversee the project to support proper project decisions.
  • Communicate with Owner and Architect/Engineer regarding field issues; identify and help resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with Owners and Architects/Engineers as needed.
  • Demonstrate leadership regarding Harper’s BIG6:
    Safety/SOAR, Delivery, Logistics/Staging/Phasing, Quality Control, Employee staffing levels, and Utility strike prevention.
  • Understand and uphold the Project Safety Requirements; ensure Harper safety requirements are explained, implemented, and demonstrated; conduct project safety pre-planning.
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager to develop a site-specific SOAR Orientation Document and implement SOAR messaging where applicable.
  • Ensure OSHA standards are understood and followed by workers on the job.
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks with all active trades and perform safety stand downs as necessary.
  • Lead timely and effective investigations of all incidents, near misses, property damage, and behavioral issues.
  • Perform weekly site safety inspections in Procore and assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to create and sequence schedules.
  • Understand project QA/QC procedures; oversee pre-installation meetings and document inspections; manage coordination of all Trade Partners and project site logistics.
  • Schedule and coordinate each trade (who goes where and when to start); develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
  • Clarify design versus installation issues (RFI management); ensure trade schedule adherence and durations.
  • Cross-train field staff and Trade Partners to support staff development; manage timesheets and daily reports; manage all jobsite equipment.
  • Develop and implement a working relationship with the Safety Manager; recognize the importance of compliance with local building codes and ADA requirements; participate in required inspections.
  • Document and execute a proper Harper punch list prior to inviting Owner and Design Team to punch list review.
  • Utilize Procore for daily logging, navigation of directories, and managing drawings; create inspections, track observations, use the photos application, maintain punch lists, and prepare RFIs for review by the Superintendent.
  • Understand how to find and read the project schedule; navigate Specifications and Submittals; enter timesheets in Procore.
  • Scheduling responsibilities include understanding material delivery dates and readiness; attend all OAC meetings and assist in setting and maintaining meeting agendas; help address critical issues in meetings.
  • Resolve clashes and conflicts of building systems without compromising the design basis; understand when documentation updates or cost impacts are required.
  • Develop and manage a QA/QC program and supervise a project using BIM technologies where applicable (coordinate 3D design conflicts, coordinate 3D design layout in the field, and use BIM tools as appropriate).
Qualifications
  • 4-year college degree in a related field with internship experience on a jobsite with an established GC.
  • OSHA 30 certified preferred.
