Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis and are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided, and maintaining a focus on safety and industry alignment.

The purpose of this position is to provide high‑quality instruction and hands‑on training in Industrial Technology with an emphasis on electrical systems, ensuring students develop the technical skills, safety awareness, and problem‑solving abilities needed for success in modern industrial and manufacturing environments.

The instructor will design and deliver an engaging curriculum aligned with industry standards, including electrical theory, motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial wiring, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This role supports Ivy Tech’s mission of preparing a skilled workforce through applied learning, industry partnerships, and academic excellence.

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; keep accurate student records and grades.
• Engage with students in meaningful ways that impact learning and provide a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Interact professionally and cooperatively with students and colleagues, complying with College policies and campus guidelines.
• Implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.

$47.35 per contract hour.

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Dedication to diversity and inclusive practice is required.

• Full‑time faculty discipline standard, or a Department of Labor or Apprenticeship Training recognized journeyman’s card with two years of related experience.
• Specialized certifications listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR) with relevant experience, or five years of related work experience linked to COR competencies.
• Current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License, or CTE:
  Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education, directly linked to course objectives and COR credentials.
