Anderson University’s Office of Student Development invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Assistant Dean of Student Engagement. The Assistant Dean of Student Engagement provides strategic leadership and oversees opportunities for comprehensive student engagement initiatives for all students enrolled in traditional programs, including student activities and programs, Base Camp Orientation, Welcome Week, Student Government, Clubs and Organizations, and First-Year Programs and experience initiatives. Working collaboratively with the Associate Vice President for Student Development, this role oversees key Student Engagement staff, ensures alignment with the University’s Christ-centered mission, and fosters a positive, collaborative team culture.
The Assistant Dean is responsible for managing budgets and resources, ensuring compliance with university policies, and serves as a central point of coordination for student engagement efforts across campus. This position plays a critical role in shaping the co-curricular experience by supporting large-scale campus events, advising the Student Government Association, strengthening student organizations, and leading orientation and first-year programs that support students’ holistic development.
The Assistant Dean collaborates extensively with faculty, staff, and campus partners to implement inclusive programming, support college-wide initiatives, and promote student involvement throughout the academic year.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a master’s degree in student development, higher education, or related field is preferred. A bachelor’s degree with three to five years of work experience in higher education is required. This role requires proven leadership experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain, prioritize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously. A commitment to collaboration, excellence, and the holistic development of students and a mature Christian faith aligned with Anderson University’s mission and values is essential.
