Spanish Teacher (Grades K3–8) 26-27 School Year (Full Time) St. Mary’s Catholic School Position Summary
The Spanish Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish language instruction to students in grades K–8 within a Catholic school environment. The teacher supports students’ linguistic development while fostering cultural awareness and integrating Catholic values into daily instruction. The Spanish Teacher collaborates with school leadership and faculty to support the academic and spiritual mission of the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum- Plan and deliver Spanish language instruction for students in grades K3–8 aligned with diocesan and school curriculum guidelines
- Develop age-appropriate lessons that address listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Integrate cultural awareness of Spanish-speaking countries while maintaining alignment with Catholic teachings and values
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology to enhance student engagement
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate academic records
- Support and model the mission, philosophy, and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Integrate Catholic values, traditions, and respect for human dignity into classroom instruction and interactions
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and religious observances as required
- Serve as a positive role model of Christian behavior for students
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment
- Establish clear expectations for behavior consistent with school policies
- Communicate effectively with students to promote confidence and participation in language learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administration, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Fulfill all duties as assigned by the principal or school administration
- Bachelor’s degree (Spanish, Education, or related field preferred)
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification (state or diocesan requirements)
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish required
- Experience teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students preferred
- Experience in a Catholic school or faith-based educational setting preferred

Salary is highly competitive and is based on years of experience and level of education completed.
