Legacy Early College Overview

Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009 with an unwavering focus on To and Through College at every grade level. Legacys model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum.

Position Overview

At Legacy Early College, we believe the facilities are an integral part of our students well‑being. We teach students that a clean, well‑kept, safe environment is essential to their health and effective learning success. The ideal candidate will embrace this approach along with the Legacy work ethic.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for cleaning assigned school spaces, which may include the cafeteria, classrooms, athletic areas, etc., as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Keep restrooms clean and well supplied.
  • Provide floor care, including sweeping, mopping, spray buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and applying floor finish.
  • Provide carpet care, including vacuuming and spot removal.
  • Provide clean‑up after student accidents that could include bio‑hazardous waste, such as vomit, urine, or feces.
  • Keep housekeeping closets clean and supplied with necessary materials. Closing and locking closets when not in use.
  • Know the opening and closing procedures of each campus.
  • Know how to operate all housekeeping equipment used in the building safely.
  • Replace light bulbs as needed.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings.
  • Understand and adhere to the guidelines of Legacy Early College.
  • Participate in team activities and special projects as scheduled by the supervisor or when help is needed due to absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of housekeeping or custodial experience, preferably in a school environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and function in a growing and continually changing workplace.
  • Punctuality and good attendance are required.
  • Ability to get along with co‑workers, students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the Legacy Early College mission and community.
Work Schedule

This position operates on the 240-day schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salaries are based on education, certification, and experience. State PEBA benefits include medical, dental, and vision, as well as additional benefits. Vanguard 401k:

Physical Demands

Long‑standing and sitting periods and the ability to lift items up to 25 lbs are required. Periodic participation in activities to support Legacy Early College is required.

Work Environment

Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high‑quality education for all students.
