GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the HIMCD-Health-Cancer Data department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Key job performance areas include:
Teaching Performance, Instructional Management, Instructional Development, Student Engagement, College and /or Community Service, and Professional Development
The employee will report to the department head for Benson Health Sciences, following institutional guidelines and curriculum standards.
While they are expected to adhere to college policies and accreditation requirements, they exercise considerable independence in designing coursecontent, selecting instructional methods, and assessing student learning. The employee must be able to function independently and direct others, specificallythe ability to lead, collaborate, and facilitate groups. Faculty are trusted touse professional discretion in classroom management and academicdecision-making. Regular evaluations and peer reviews help ensure instructionalquality and alignment with institutional goals.
Work hours will vary due to the needs of the school andcollege. Online, or a blend of instructional methods may be required to meet departmental and or college expectations for the position. Travel maybe required. Day and/or evening hours may be required. Management within the academic school is a complex job involving cooperative/joint efforts in the professional community. Programs are highly valued by the professionalcommunity and department accountability is high.
The employee must have excellent communication skills and be capable of maintaining an atmosphere that fosters learning. Employee must have the knowledge and skills demonstrated by RHIT or RHIA credentials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or related field with demonstrated competencies in the HIM discipline. The employee must have three (3 ) years of work experience in his/her discipline. Employee must be certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator 3(RHIA).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree in Health Information Management or Health Informatics. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Prefer candidates with Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credentials. 5 years of management experience in HIM or CDM fields. Experience teaching. Supervision and/or administrative experience preferred.
