Job Description
Job Summary:
The Multi-Site Warehouse Safety Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Logisticus Group's warehouse and transportation operations across multiple locations. This position ensures safe, complaint, and efficient operations by overseeing safety programs, conducting site audits, delivering training, and supporting the safe launch of new warehouses or yards created through business expansion and client opportunities.
The specialist partners closely with operations, field teams, logistics coordinators, rigging teams, subcontractors, and leadership to maintain LG's industry-leading safety culture.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary safety resource for multiple Logisticus Group warehouses, laydown yards, and operational sites.
- Conduct routine site visits, safety audits, observations, and leadership walk-arounds.
- Maintain consistent implementation of LG safety standards across all locations.
- Support warehouse leads and operators with coaching, hazard recognition, and corrective action follow-through.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in pre-launch planning: facility design, traffic routing, racking layout, forklift lanes, blind-spot controls, PPE requirements, and emergency egress.
- Conduct initial hazard assessments and create site-specific safety plans, JHAs, SDS setup, and emergency action plans.
- Develop and deliver safety orientation for new hires, contractors, and start-up leadership teams.
- Verify OSHA readiness for PIT operations, electrical safety, fire protection, Haz Com and program setup.
- Support mobilization of safety supplies, signage, spill response kits, and safety equipment.
- Deliver site-level training including:
- Forklift / PIT Certification
- Overhead lift awareness
- Fall prevention
- Hazard Communication
- PPE and warehouse ergonomics
- Emergency response procedures
- Develop toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and provide employee coaching at all assigned locations.
- Support LG's company-wide training and standardization objectives.
- Conduct scheduled audits of:
- Racking and material storage
- Forklift & heavy equipment operations
- Loading/unloading areas
- Rigging & lift zones around warehouse interfaces
- Housekeeping, and pedestrian-vehicle separation
- Fire extinguishers, spill kits, eyewash stations
- Document findings, enter corrective actions into LG systems, and verify timely closure.
- Lead or support investigations for injuries, near misses, property damage, and equipment incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with site leaders on corrective action plans.
- Track site-level metrics and contribute to Logisticus Group safety reporting dashboards.
- Oversee suppliers for new warehouse build-outs, racking installation, MHE delivery, electrical work, and facility modifications.
- Ensure contractors follow LG protocols for LOTO, hot work, and elevated work.
- Identify recurring risks across multiple LG warehouse sites and recommend scalable improvements.
- Support the Safety & Compliance Department in refining standard operating procedures, JHAs, and training modules.
- Assist in improving LG's safety scorecards, KPIs, and reporting tools.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Operations, Quality, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in warehouse safety, logistics, transportation, or industrial operations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and warehouse-specific safety requirements.
- Demonstrated experience conducting audits, delivering training, and driving corrective actions.
- Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence across multiple sites.
- Ability to travel 50-75% or more based on business needs.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with incident tracking, corrective action, or EHS management systems (experience with any platform acceptable)
