Senior Structural Engineer

Overview

I have teamed up with a leading fabricator who specializes in bridge fabrication. They are looking for a Sr Structural Engineer to join their team. They cannot keep up with the growth; they are currently backlogged by over 50 projects.

Due to this, you will be joining their successful engineering department and they are looking for someone with a sharp eye, who can dive head first and be a crucial part in their continuous growth next year.

• Review contract drawings and specifications for structural steel bridge projects
• Perform engineering analysis and calculations for connection design, fit-up, framing modifications, temporary works, and erection support where required
• Review and approve shop drawings, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code, and owner requirements
• Work with detailers to resolve geometry, camber, bolt patterns, splice locations, and fabrication sequencing issues
• Coordinate with QC and production teams regarding fabrication methods, weld procedures, bolting, and inspection requirements
• Prepare engineering reports, calculation packages, and RFI responses as needed
• Support project managers in reviewing change orders, scope clarifications, and technical risks
• Participate in pre-fabrication, constructability, and quality meetings
• Ensure all engineering work meets safety, quality, and code standards

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential)
• 3+ years commercial experience in structural or civil engineering
