Senior Mechanical Engineer – Custom Automation Systems
Type: Direct hire
Are you a mechanical engineer who loves designing real machines - not just parts on a screen?
We’re hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of custom automation and engineered-to-order manufacturing systems. This is a high‑ownership role where you’ll drive projects from concept through build, collaborate cross‑functionally, and mentor other engineers along the way.
What you’ll do:- Lead mechanical design for complex automation equipment
- Solve challenging design problems and improve manufacturability
- Own major system components or full smaller projects
- Partner with customers, production, and engineering teams
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
- 5+ years in automation, custom machinery, or capital equipment
- Hands‑on mechanical design + manufacturing knowledge
- Technical leadership and problem‑solving mindset
Bonus:
Integrator background, FE/EIT, regulated industry exposure.
