One of our clients, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their leadership team. Based in Greenville, SC, the company is known for its commitment to operational excellence, quality manufacturing, and continuous improvement. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys turning customer requirements into practical solutions. The Design Engineer develops structural racking designs, creates accurate 2D and 3D drawings, and collaborates with project and production teams to deliver cost‑effective manufacturable results while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:- Develop structural racking designs that meet customer specifications and project requirements.
- Create accurate 2D drawings and detailed 3D models.
- Generate renderings for client review and approval.
- Ensure designs comply with safety standards and manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Production teams to deliver cost‑effective, manufacturable solutions.
- Interpret project specifications, layouts, and technical requirements.
- Revise designs based on feedback, scope changes, or evolving project needs.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to solution development and estimation.li>
- Maintain accurate documentation, revision control, and organized project files.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and documentation standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant design engineering experience (structural racking, steel fabrication, or related industry preferred).
- Proficiency in Autodesk 2D and Inventor for detailed drawings, modeling, and rendering.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to develop innovative, cost‑effective design solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with rendering software and design documentation best practices preferred.
