Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, qualification, and standardization of NDT processes supporting Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Generator components across manufacturing and service operations.
  • Serve as a technical authority for multiple NDT methods, supporting complex inspections on critical power generation hardware such as rotors, blades, vanes, casings, and shafts.
  • Develop, review, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, techniques, and inspection standards in compliance with ASNT, ASTM, ISO, GE Vernova internal specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Partner with design, materials, repair engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure inspection readiness for new product introduction (NPI), design changes, and repair development.
  • Support repair qualification and life extension programs, including inspection development for field-returned and aged components.
  • Lead technical problem-solving for inspection escapes, service findings, and nonconformances using structured root cause analysis.
  • Provide NDT technical leadership during internal, customer, and regulatory audits, as applicable.
  • Provide technical support for NDT engineers, inspectors, process engineers, and technicians across global manufacturing and service sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inspection capability, digitalization, automation, and advanced NDT technologies to improve quality, safety, and cost.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 ASNT Level II certifications in any of the following NDT methods:
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Eddy Current Testing (ET)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience applying NDT in power generation, heavy industrial, aerospace, or similar regulated manufacturing and service environments.
Desired Characteristics
  • ASNT Level III certification in one or more NDT methods.
  • Experience inspecting or developing NDT processes for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, or Generator components, including castings, forgings, weldments, and rotating hardware.
  • Familiarity with repair and overhaul (MRO) environments and inspection of service-exposed components.
  • Experience with advanced and automated NDT technologies, such as phased array UT, advanced eddy current, or digital inspection systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, qualifying, or sustaining NDT processes for critical hardware.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASNT, ASTM, ISO, EN, and industry specifications).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and fleet reliability.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization
