Donaldson Life Sciences is seeking a Facilities Operations & EHS Lead to manage and oversee day-to-day site facilities operations while leading the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program. In this role you will execute site specific targets and objectives aligned with Donaldson’s overall environmental health and safety strategies to provide a safe, compliant, and highly functional environment that enables scientific innovation and technical development.

The ideal candidate brings hands‑on facilities expertise, strong coordination skills and experience supporting laboratory environments.

Qualified candidates must be able to work an on‑site schedule at our Greenville, SC facility.

Role Responsibilities
  • Leads daily facilities operations for R&D laboratory, utilities, and office‑space
  • Ensures reliable operation of critical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water systems, compressed gases, lab utilities, janitorial services, and building security
  • Coordinates and manages preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to our preventative maintenance program of facilities and lab equipment to minimize downtime and operational risk
  • Serves as first point of contact for facilities‑related issues impacting R&D activities and manages certificate of insurance process for all contractors
  • Tracks project scope, schedules, and budgets; ensures work is completed safely and to specification
  • Assists with onboarding of new equipment from a facility and EHS readiness perspective and supports implementation of new equipment or procedures utilizing the Management of Change process
  • Tracks and manages on‑site inventory, places purchase orders, and coordinates shipping and receiving, supports onboarding of new suppliers to ensure uninterrupted site operations
  • After‑hours on‑call support as may be needed
  • Utilizes Donaldson EHS Framework to support site compliance with EHS, biosafety, and regulatory requirements applicable to R&D operations, location, and employees
  • Maintains on‑site specific EHS compliance calendar and the EHS action tracker. Maintains the EHS Compliance Calendar to facilitate the timely completion of EHS‑related compliance, training, and preventative maintenance obligations.
  • Utilizes various DCI‑provided risk assessment tools to identify exposures to health and safety hazards or environmental aspects that can result in harm to people, property, or the environment.
  • Conducts data collection required to demonstrate compliance with the site’s environmental regulatory requirements
  • Partners with global EHS and R&D leadership team to maintain safe lab environments, including chemical storage, waste handling, and emergency preparedness
  • Conducts employee training, as applicable, and as outlined on the EHS compliance Calendar and responsible for record keeping of applicable staff training, including internal HR courses, trade licenses, and certifications
  • Manages scheduling and coordination of chemical and biohazard waste pickups, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Program coordination of first aid, AED, CPR, Code Blue safety supplies, training, and record maintenance for the first responder team

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a facility operations role or EHS focused role
  • Worked in building systems, lab utilities, and/or maintenance setting
  • Experience managing contractors and service vendors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or regulated R&D environments
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to work at all levels of the company, providing excellent customer service.
