Product Quality Engineer
This Product Quality Engineer will be supporting Gas Turbine Final Assembly operations and components. This role will be instrumental for our team to meet our quality standards, resolve defects, and make process improvements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize quality control processes for Gas Turbine Assembly.
- Ownership of defect/NCN (Non-conforming Notice) reviews and disposition.
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis process to prevent defects with cross-functional team, as needed.
- Develop gage quality and calibration plans.
- Develops knowledge of best practices and how Turbine Assembly Cell integrates with others; builds awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate our cell in the market.
- Maintain and improve process documentation in assigned area to ensure consistent quality.
- Implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity.
- Maintain familiarity with assembly processes and measurement equipment/gages, as well as appropriate calibration and preventative maintenance.
- Work with design engineering to improve drawing/design definition to support Lean manufacturing process improvements.
- Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of quality, quantity, and timeliness to meet goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of professional work experience).
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience or relevant intern or co-op experience.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GE systems.
- Prior Gas Turbine component experience and knowledge preferred.
- Prior leadership experience.
