Due to nuclear site access and export-controlled project requirements, this role requires candidates to be willing to work on W2.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to provide Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) support for manufacturing operations, with a primary focus on rotor and unit assembly. This role partners closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve production issues, improve product quality, and support continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Review, evaluate, and develop engineering solutions for manufacturing issues.
  • Perform engineering analysis using hand calculations, CAD models, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering evaluation tools.
  • Support Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) initiatives focused on reducing manufacturing defects and improving engineering definitions and production processes.
  • Revise engineering drawings, specifications, and related technical documentation as needed.
  • Conduct technical reviews to determine appropriate rework methods and establish acceptance criteria for nonconforming hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
