Job Description Summary
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well‑defined operations framework with a step‑by‑step sequence of standard operational tasks to achieve an end result.
Responsibilities- Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack‑ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline; may include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in a broad area.
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
- Understand how the work of the own team contributes to the broader area.
- Resolve issues using established procedures; consult with a supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside defined parameters.
- Collaborate with others to solve issues.
- For customer‑facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between the customer and GE.
- Exchange technical information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
- Establish and maintain consistency of a product's performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, operational information, and manage changes throughout the system life cycle.
- Provide visibility and control of system performance and attributes.
- Verify that a system performs as intended and is documented in sufficient detail to support its projected life cycle.
- Facilitate orderly management of system information and system changes to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, reduce cost, or correct defects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college or high‑school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in relevant Job Family Group(s)/Function(s).
- Previous CAD experience is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
