Do you enjoy designing custom products, working closely with manufacturing teams, and solving unique engineering challenges? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Our client is a growing manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial enclosures, control rooms, modular structures, and specialty fabricated systems serving customers across North America. Their products are engineered to solve unique operational, environmental, and industrial challenges, with every project tailored to a customer's specific requirements. [

As they continue expanding their U.S. operations, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Greenville engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys designing custom products, solving complex engineering problems, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and seeing projects move from concept through fabrication and installation. Every project is different, providing continuous opportunities to learn, innovate, and make a visible impact.

What You'll Do

  • Design custom-engineered mechanical systems, industrial enclosures, and modular structures using Solid Works.
  • Serve as a key technical contributor within the engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop 3D models, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Specify and evaluate mechanical components, purchased equipment, and system requirements.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support project documentation requirements.
  • Participate in field measurements, site visits, and technical reviews when required.
  • Support fabrication and installation by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
  • Work directly with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and efficient to build.
  • Contribute to product improvements, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in mechanical design, product development, custom equipment, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with Solid Works or comparable 3D CAD software.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create manufacturing drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of welding, forming, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with industrial equipment, enclosures, modular structures, or building products.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, building mechanics, or mechanical systems integration.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience performing structural calculations or engineering analysis

Who Thrives Here?

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges.
  • Is curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Takes ownership of projects and follows them through completion.
  • Enjoys collaborating across engineering, production, purchasing, and project management teams.
  • Likes getting out from behind the computer and spending time on the production floor.
  • Wants to see designs become finished products.
  • Thrives in a growing company where teamwork, initiative, and communication are highly valued
