What You’ll DoAs a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating detailed fire protection system layouts that meet product specifications, NFPA standards, and building codes. You’ll work closely with project managers, contractors, and field teams to ensure seamless design and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Design fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and AutoCAD in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14
, and other applicable codes - Prepare layout drawings, material lists, and perform hydraulic calculations
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP plans to coordinate system designs
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire protection codes
- Communicate with AHJs, clients, general contractors, and field personnel
- Assist with submittals, permitting, and approvals
- Provide technical support during construction and post-installation revisions
- Stay current with code updates and emerging technologies
We’re seeking a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can lead projects from concept to completion.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design
- Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection design principles
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical drawings
Excellent organizational and communication skills - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout
- Experience with pre-fabrication project listing
- NICET Certification in Fire Sprinkler Design
- Relocation assistance for candidates east of the Mississippi
