Power Distribution Designer

The Power Distribution Design Engineer applies technical expertise to solve simple problems and provides leadership by overseeing work related to power distribution within their specific area of expertise, under close supervision.

Workers are expected to develop skill in their field of study and can work with some degree of independence.

• Write work orders and handle numerous work orders simultaneously.
• Spend approximately one day a week in the field gathering data.
• Enter data into design systems and manage assigned work.
• Apply technical expertise in identification, analysis, and resolution of problems related to power distribution.
• Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related studies.
• Continuously improve job-related technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally.

• Technical associate degree, OR 2+ years of relevant power distribution experience.
• Proficient user of computer applications, particularly MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Self‑motivated, work independently, team‑oriented, customer‑oriented.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.
