Self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of custom automated machinery for a diverse range of manufacturing industries and clients.
What You’ll Do- Apply standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, procedures to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and deepen expertise in complex machine and automation design.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other project team members to achieve contractual and technical requirements.
- Review and provide technical feedback on engineering designs and deliverables.
- Influence design maturation and help guide engineering teams toward effective, manufacturable solutions.
- Present design development and engineering solutions directly to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work independently with sound engineering judgment and minimal supervision.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, quality, and overall engineering workflows.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to developing engineers.
- Help identify and resolve engineering issues using extensive technical experience and sound judgment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited ABET/EAC program; an associate’s degree with equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience with CAD software such as Solid Works, Creo, NX, or AutoCAD
. - Strong knowledge of standard and advanced mechanical engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to review and critique engineering work and recognize common technical issues based on experience.
- Experience providing technical direction, supervision, mentorship, or coaching to other engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound technical decisions.
- FE/EIT certification is desirable but not required.
- Automation industry experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5%, including occasional overnight and international travel.
