Job Description

The Finance Operations Officer III provides a range of administrative, transaction processing, data gathering, verification, cleansing, report production and/or operational finance support for the overall Bank.

Depth & Scope
  • Works within moderately defined procedures and/or is responsible for activities involving multiple steps, systems, and jurisdictions
  • Transactions and activities require deep knowledge across a broad range or variety of products, processes or systems and where transactions could be characterized by moderate to high volatility
  • Identifies and resolves issues within discretion and authority on processes or transactions or escalates internally as required
  • Generally interacts with internal customers/partners for functions performed and/or external customers
  • May provide process/policy guidance to others (e.g. within team, internal partners)
  • Focus of work spans from daily, weekly to monthly activities
  • Requires solid knowledge of the business unit and operational functions for the business area supported as well as regulatory issues/requirements for jurisdictions supported
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma
  • Undergraduate degree/college diploma preferred
  • 2+ years relevant experience
Customer Accountabilities
  • Handles operational finance activities such as processing/balancing/reconciling/validating transactions, investigating customer issues, preparation of files, data gathering and cleansing, report production and preparation etc.
  • Processes various finance related transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/procedures while adhering to formal or informal Service Level Agreement(s) (SLAs)
  • Provides optimal internal customer and partner service, adhering to customer service standards
  • Ensures exception/correction/payment items and inquiry items are identified and properly processed as per department guidelines
  • Acts as a key resource to Finance partners by providing relevant and meaningful financial information/data, responding to inquiries and performing adjustments within authority levels
  • Coordinates and/or consolidates financial information needs/requests
  • Identifies key variances and contributes to the analysis, due diligence and execution and/or implementation of potential initiatives within defined area of responsibility
  • Maintains working relationships with internal customers, partners and/or vendors including responding to questions and/or concerns in an effective and timely manner
  • Contributes to the execution or delivery of financial and/or special initiatives and programs as assigned
  • Keeps current on emerging issues and industry trends for the Business/Finance area being supported
Shareholder Accountabilities
  • Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
  • Understands and applies operating policies and procedures
  • Follows internal and industry regulations and standard operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the organization or customers
