Overview
United Community is seeking an experienced Corporate Banking Division Manager to lead Corporate Banking efforts in the Greenville / Spartanburg market. This key leadership role is responsible for driving new Corporate Banking and Middle Market relationships, partnering with Commercial Relationship Managers, and supporting the strategic objectives of the Division and the organization.
What You’ll Do- Pursue, generate, and expand new Corporate Banking and Middle Market relationships.
- Execute a comprehensive customer development strategy including calls, visits, needs assessments, qualification, and follow-up.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, issues, and concerns.
- Analyze financial statements and structure financing proposals.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for loans, treasury management, and related corporate banking products.
- Actively cross‑sell a full spectrum of bank products and services.
- Interact with credit administration and loan review teams.
- Apply strong credit and pricing judgment; make recommendations and exercise approval authority as assigned.
- Sponsor loan requests through appropriate credit approval channels.
- Drive account profitability with a focus on core banking services.
- Manage administrative responsibilities including credit analysis and processing.
- Maintain strong community involvement and representation.
- Provide leadership oversight, including quarterly check‑ins, coaching, development, and performance management of staff.
- Support additional credit‑related roles as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in banking or sales preferred.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and demonstrated business acumen.
- Knowledge of effective sales techniques and experience applying them in a corporate banking environment.
- Ability to organize, facilitate, lead, and negotiate with cross‑functional teams to solve client challenges.
- Professional sales skills including planning, execution, and follow‑
- Strong customer needs assessment and problem‑solving abilities.
- Demonstrated mastery of a full suite of bank products including credit, international, treasury management, capital management, leasing, and consumer products.
- Ability to lead complex sales initiatives and generate customized, comprehensive proposals.
- Participation in all required compliance training including Bank Secrecy Act / anti‑money laundering.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Must be able to pass a background & credit check.
- Full‑time position; schedule flexibility required, including evenings and weekends when needed.
- Position may require occasional travel.
- Work performed in a United Community office location within company footprint.
