Job Summary

The Auditor III is a senior-level audit professional responsible for evaluating the design and effectiveness of process-oriented controls across third-party servicers, including law firms and collection agencies, as well as internal business operations. This role conducts risk-based audits to assess compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. The Auditor III analyzes complex business processes and control environments, identifies areas of risk and operational improvement, and develops actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Audit.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute audit assignments in an efficient, timely and professional manner.
  • Facilitate conference calls with Servicers or Internal Stake Holders, review Servicer and internal documentation, develop audit observation results and communicate audit findings to management and/or servicer in well written reports.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
  • Follows up on remediation responses to ensure proper implementation and controls are effectively working.
  • Assists with enhancing existing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and assist with UAT of new processes.
  • Performs other audit-related duties and projects as assigned or as the situation requires.
  • Mentor and train junior auditors.
  • Travel as needed (minimum 25%)
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of audit, compliance, risk management, or related experience.
  • Advance knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA, GLBA, FCRA, FACTA, and UDAAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of the unsecured, post charge-off collection process a plus.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to offer unbiased written feedback.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Project management skills and demonstrated ability to complete audits and/or projects within timelines.
  • Ability to employ intuition and analytical skills, and interpret assembled data, to identify potential process breakdowns and their potential impacts.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities.
  • Capable of leading or facilitating meetings with director level and up attendees.
  • Leadership, training, and mentoring skills including the ability to lead staff in on-site audit preparations.
  • Strong writing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional certifications preferred.
