Technical SEO Specialist
Greenville South Carolina:
Can be remote in GA but they want someone close that could come onsite for needed meetings
40hrs a week / Contact to Hire
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical SEO Specialist to join our digital marketing team. In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Director and support them across a variety of technical and optimization initiatives.
Note:
Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit a portfolio, case study, or relevant project examples demonstrating these skills in action.
- Ability to write HTML & CSS code from scratch (without AI assistance)
- Conceptual understanding of JavaScript and PHP (writing code from scratch is not required)
- Hands-on experience working with various Word Press sites and the Gutenberg editor
- Experience working with at least one major page builder (e.g., Elementor)
- Experience managing websites hosted on dedicated Word Press environments (e.g., WP Engine, Site Ground, Bluehost)
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals (Technical SEO health, page speed optimization, and on-page best practices)
- Understanding of fundamental web design principles (color contrast, typography, brand consistency)
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience managing domains and DNS configurations
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting SMTP settings
- Experience migrating existing Word Press websites between hosts
- Proficiency with Zapier or integrating lead generation platforms into CRMs
- Basic working knowledge of Google Tag Manager (basic tags/triggers), Google Analytics (reports/key events), and Google Search Console (indexing reports, Core Web Vitals, structured data)
- Familiarity with Chrome Dev Tools
- Experience using photo/graphic editing software (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity)
- Comfort working within standard code editors (e.g., VS Code)
- Resourceful problem solver comfortable navigating unique, unfamiliar technical challenges without established answers
- Ability to independently read and interpret platform/service documentation
- Collaborative team player who effectively receives, implements, and offers feedback
- Skilled at managing shifting priorities and proactively communicating potential issues or conflicts early
- Adaptable learner eager to keep pace with a constantly evolving industry
