Information Technology Support Technician

Duration: 2 months, with possible extension

Computer Consultants International (CCI) is seeking an entry-level IT Support Technician to support the University of South Carolina. This role provides frontline technical support to faculty, staff, and students within the College of Nursing.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with foundational IT knowledge who enjoys troubleshooting technology issues, helping end users, and learning new systems and technologies.

• Provide frontline technical support to faculty, staff, and students in person, remotely, and through the service-request process.
• Troubleshoot common issues involving Windows and macOS computers, software applications, user accounts, printers, peripherals, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
• Set up, configure, deploy, replace, and maintain computers, peripherals, and other technology equipment.
• Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding, workstation setup, equipment refreshes, office moves, and technology deployments.
• Provide support for classroom, conference-room, audiovisual, and meeting technologies, including displays, projectors, microphones, cameras, speakers, and video-conferencing systems.
• Assist with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, presentation equipment, and hybrid meeting/event technology.
• Perform routine device configuration, software installation, operating-system updates, equipment checks, and inventory activities.
• Assist with systems such as Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Jamf, or other endpoint-management platforms under the direction of senior IT staff.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience supporting computers, technology, or end users.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
• Ability to troubleshoot common computer and technology problems.
• Familiarity with Windows environments.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and procedures.

• Associate degree or technical certification in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with Windows 10/11 or macOS.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, or Jamf.
• Experience supporting classroom, audiovisual, or conference-room technology.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar conferencing platforms.
• This is a fully on-site position in Columbia, South Carolina.
• Candidates must currently reside in South Carolina. No relocation is available for this position.
• The role requires travel between University of South Carolina buildings.
• Occasional evening or weekend support may be required for ceremonies, meetings, or other university events.
• The position is a 2-month contract with possible extension.
