A real estate attorney leading their own office within a larger firm is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the office's legal practice related to real estate transactions. This includes managing a team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, providing strategic guidance to clients, engaging heavily in business development, resolving disputes, and staying abreast of industry developments. Additionally, they handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, staffing, and overall office management to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the real estate legal practice.
Key Responsibilities & Objectives Business Development- Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the client base.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the real estate industry.
- Provide excellent client service, understanding and addressing client objectives.
- Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the legal practice, including budgeting, billing, and financial planning.
- Maximize profitability and ensure financial sustainability.
- Lead and manage a small staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team is aligned with business goals.
- Apply in-depth legal knowledge to handle complex real estate transactions.
- Ensure legal compliance and excellence in all aspects of real estate law.
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of legal practice.
- Establish a strong brand presence in the local market.
- Engage in networking activities to build connections within the legal community, real estate industry, and local business community.
- Attend industry events and actively participate in relevant professional associations.
- Introduce innovative approaches, services, or technologies to stay competitive in the market.
- Adapt to changing legal landscapes and client needs.
- Identify and manage legal and business risks associated with real estate transactions and the operation of the legal practice.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, staying informed about developments in real estate law, business trends, and legal practice management.
- Uphold and reinforce high ethical standards in legal practice and business operations.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and legal professional conduct.
- In-depth understanding of the legal aspects of real estate transactions, including contracts, financing, and closings.
- Expertise in title examination, title insurance, and resolving title issues.
- Efficiently manage time to handle various tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prioritize activities to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain a strong client-centric approach, ensuring that all services provided align with client needs and expectations.
- Solicit and respond to client feedback to continually improve service delivery.
- Participate in maintaining a tidy and organized office environment.
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support team operations.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet organizational needs.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- At three years practicing real estate law
