Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Project Manager role is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of medium to large projects within scope, quality, time and cost constraints that may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value. The Project Manager works closely with the subject matter experts within each department to build the list of required deliverables.

Assists in preparing capital and operating cost analysis documents as part of the project approval process. Responsible for coordinating activities of departmental and third party project teams, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.

Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose:

  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks for smaller initiatives. Establishes work plans and staffing for project activities.
  • Prepares project documents including project charter (scope), project risk reporting, issues list, project sign-off, lessons learned and other necessary analysis.
  • Assigns duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel. Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to outline work plan.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget. Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans.
  • Provides project management guidance and mentoring
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or related field of study.
  • Experience - Three (3) years project management, project coordination, and/or general business management experience.
In Lieu Of
  • In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, nine (9) years of project management and three (3) years in a health-related environment may be considered.
  • In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, an Associate degree and seven (7) years project management experience in a health-related environment may be considered.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master Certification
  • Project manager training and certification within 180-days
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
  • Communication skills.
  • Leadership skills with experience leading and motivating diverse teams for complex projects.
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, Power Point and databases)
  • Working knowledge of project management tools/software
  • Ability to develop and execute a project resource plan and deliver them against financial and resource constraints.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment, with many competing priorities.
