Line Worker

General Purpose: Performing one or more steps in preparation of processing poultry products. Production employees use a knife or scissors to cut up or debone chicken as it moves down the production line. This work involves standing for long periods of time, doing rapid and repetitive work in a cold and damp environment. It may also include lifting heavy objects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Employees use a knife or scissors to cut up or debone chicken as it moves down the production line.
• Checks for bones and excess fat attached.
• Removes bones with a knife and pulls off the extra fat with the hand or trims it with the knife.
• Participate as an active team member of production in assigned area.
• Perform repetitive tasks as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Attend monthly or annual meetings and trainings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent to the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Often work in dusty, humid, and heated environments; as well as cold, moist environments.
