Position Title:

Material Handling - Material Handler

Metromont LLC has been a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century and is currently accepting resumes to be part of our dynamic team. Metromont is a third-generation company with nearly 1,500 associates across six manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.

• Move finished product from production to various on-site locations as part of a team.
• Prepare product, trailer, and ground to safely unload product.
• Effectively communicate with truck drivers and operating personnel for overhead and travel crane operations.
• Load and unload trailers; ensure proper dunnage placement and load leveling.
• Sequence loads onto trailer and identify/damage or report defective product.
• Assist with off-load lists and locating pieces of concrete product identified as being shipped that day.
• Coordinate with mi-jack crane operator to move product safely to its location.
• Rig product to be lifted as needed and set timbers on trailer in preparation for loading.
• Unhook rigging on product once laid on trailer; work as part of a team to assist others as needed.
• Adhere to Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policies.
• Operate a tablet to identify items to be loaded or offloaded and maintain a clean work area and equipment.

• Able to read a tape measure; experience with crane signals preferred.
• Ability to work on a team and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and signals; adaptable to schedule changes.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills; knowledge of mark-up load steps.
• Effective communication with drivers and crane operators; knowledge and maintenance of yard location.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years of general construction or material handling experience preferred.

• Monday–Friday; outdoor environment; not climate controlled; exposed to weather conditions.
• Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on production needs.

This position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and the ability to climb up to 15 feet using stairs.
