Job Summary:
Provides specialized neonatal care to critically ill or premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Responsible for delivering comprehensive patient management and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Administer advanced neonatal nursing care, including full body cooling, chest tubes, and ventilator management.
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and maintain adherence to clinical protocols.
- Monitor and assess neonatal patient conditions, including gestational age, diagnoses, and responses to treatment.
- Manage special procedures such as tracheostomy care, Avastin administration, and laser eye surgeries.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed, maintaining flexibility and competency in various clinical tasks.
Qualifications:
- Hold at least 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience.
- Valid BLS, NRP, and SC license required; STABLE certification preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC EMR system and neonatal clinical procedures.
- Possess strong skills in ventilator management, airway care, and neonatal stabilization.
- Meet all required certifications and compliance standards for neonatal nursing.
- Ability to work night shifts (4x12s, 19:00-07:30) with call responsibilities.
