Job Description
Summary:
The GOAT (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips) Program Coordinator will assist the Program Director in the planning and execution of program activities. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing for programs, transporting students, actively participating in, and helping execute outdoor adventure experiences.
This role requires comfort and confidence in outdoor environments and adventure-based programming. The Program Coordinator must be willing and able to participate in and help lead outdoor adventures including—but not limited to—paddle boarding, hiking, backpacking, camping, mountain biking, road biking, and indoor and outdoor rock climbing. While prior experience in these activities is preferred, candidates are not required to be experts. A strong willingness to learn, gain experience, and develop outdoor competency is essential.
Job Responsibilities- Assist the Program Director in the execution and ongoing development of GOAT programs
- Support program administration, including data tracking, community engagement, scheduling, and event planning
- Assist in maintaining, servicing, and inventorying all program gear (e.g., mountain bikes, paddleboards, and related equipment)
- Coordinate transportation logistics with mentors, students, parents and schools
- Schedule and support Bible discussions with mentors
- Uphold and reinforce behavioral expectations for all participants
- Build and maintain relationships with local middle and high schools, students, and parents
- Develop and oversee youth engagement processes for Summer Adventures
- Support adventure experience storytelling and engagement (photos, invitations to adventure teams, etc.)
- Support spiritual formation through Bible lessons for guides
- Assist the Program Director in facilitating youth engagement and intern training
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and equipping of volunteers and interns
- Assist in developing and casting vision for engaging the Poe Mill community through outdoor adventure opportunities
- Assist with donor communication, including writing thank-you notes
