Quality Inspector – Final Valve

Pride Staff - Greenville is seeking a meticulous, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented Quality Inspector (Final Valve) for a leading manufacturing facility for our customer in the Furman/Travelers Rest area. In this critical quality control role, you will be responsible for inspecting parts and finished products to ensure absolute conformance with engineering drawings and quality standards. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will utilize microscopic inspection tools, fixed and variable gages, and digital reports to catch defects, issue problem slips, and authorize product releases.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Your main responsibility is the meticulous inspection, testing, and verification of valve components, directly reducing internal rejections and customer complaints.
  • Conformity Auditing:
    Inspect parts, materials, and finished products against engineering blueprints and defect code models using fixed or variable measuring instruments.
  • Microscopic Inspection:
    Perform detailed visual examinations using microscopes to identify micro-defects or surface irregularities.
  • Specialized Testing:
    Utilize specialized testing equipment—such as optical comparators and festo/solex tools—to evaluate off-quality products.
  • Sampling & Post-Inspection:
    Collect product samples at prescribed intervals and perform post-inspection audits on released items following established sampling procedures.
  • Problem Escalation & Re-Inspection:
    Issue problem slips to production teams when non-conforming parts are found, and re-inspect products after corrective actions are made.
  • Documentation & Entry:
    Accurately complete digital computer reports and hard-copy quality logs to track audit metrics.
  • Sorting & Release:
    Sort and salvage components as instructed; affix authorized release stickers and labels to finalized boxes to clear product for shipment.
  • Safety & Housekeeping:
    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection cell while adhering strictly to all facility safety rules.
Quality Inspector Requirements Include:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; prior quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
  • Microscope & Blueprint Proficiency:
    Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings and comfortably use a microscope for fine visual inspections.
  • Gage & Measurement

    Skills:

    Ability to use microscopes, gages, and precision instruments to measure defect tolerances and pass accurate judgment on part acceptability.
  • Visual Acuity:
    Must have excellent vision and the ability to differentiate color variations accurately.
  • Computer & Math

    Skills:

    Basic computer knowledge for digital data entry, alongside basic math skills to complete required inspection paperwork.
  • Environment & Language:
    Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions clearly; comfortable working in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
  • Safety Habits: A reliable professional who understands and consistently practices safe work habits and proper PPE compliance.
