Scientist - Membrane Chromatography Applications Downstream Protein Purification | Customer-Facing Technical Leadership | Growth Opportunity

Are you an expert in downstream protein purification who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working directly with customers? We are seeking a High Level Scientist to support the development and application of innovative membrane chromatography technologies for the bioprocessing industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing life sciences organization where you'll serve as a technical subject matter expert, helping customers optimize purification workflows while contributing to the development and adoption of cutting-edge chromatography products.

What You'll Be Doing

+ Lead application development initiatives focused on downstream protein purification and membrane-based chromatography technologies.

+ Design and execute experiments to generate robust application data and support product performance claims.

+ Develop and optimize purification workflows and analytical methods for biomolecule characterization.

+ Analyze complex datasets and translate findings into customer-focused technical solutions.

+ Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing teams.

+ Interface directly with customers, providing technical expertise and application support.

+ Support product adoption through technical presentations, conferences, customer meetings, and application-focused content.

+ Mentor junior scientists and contribute to technical leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

+ MS or PhD in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

+ Strong industry experience with downstream processing, protein purification, chromatography, or bioprocessing applications.

+ Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, gel-based assays, fragment analyzers, or related methods.

+ Proven customer-facing experience supporting scientific products, technologies, or applications.

+ Ability to independently lead projects and deliver technical solutions.

+ Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience

+ Biopharmaceutical industry experience.

+ Expertise in protein purification workflows.

+ Experience supporting chromatography products or purification technologies.

+ Experience presenting to customers, industry groups, or scientific conferences.

+ Leadership or mentoring experience.

Work Environment

The role requires a willingness to travel periodically to support conferences, trade shows, cross-site collaboration, and customer or partner engagements. The work environment is fast-paced and team-based, requiring adaptability to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
