Position: Prep Cook (Part-Time, with Potential for More Hours) Johns Island, SC

Hours:

  • Wednesdays: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

  • Thursdays–Saturdays: 4:00 PM – Close (typically around 10:00–10:30 PM)

About the Role:

We are seeking a fast-paced, organized, and skilled Lead Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. You’ll work closely with our Chef and Sous Chef, preparing several of our signature dishes, take 'n' bake meals, and deli items.

A great prep cook is quick, diligent, and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow instructions, read recipes accurately, and uphold the highest health and safety standards. Our kitchen is fast-paced, and we function as a close-knit team — teamwork and communication are key.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen

  • Self-motivated and dependable

  • Ability to follow directions and recipes precisely

  • Related culinary skills and experience

  • Able to provide two positive professional references

  • Available to work Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00–10:00 PM (preferred availability)

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Basic knowledge of cooking methods, tools, and equipment

  • Familiar with commercial kitchen equipment and protocols

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chef with all aspects of food preparation

  • Prepare and execute dishes as directed by Chef, Sous Chef, and Line Cooks

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station

  • Stock and organize supplies; help receive and store deliveries

  • Maintain proper food stock levels

  • Wash dishes and manage trash disposal

  • Communicate with managers and team members for smooth kitchen operations

  • Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork

  • Participate in cleaning, organizing, and rotating duties as needed
