Role Description

The Asbestos Analyst role at SEEML is a full-time, on-site position based in Greenville, SC. In this role, the analyst prepares and processes environmental and building material samples for asbestos analysis using approved laboratory methods and instrumentation. Daily tasks include receiving and logging samples, performing microscopic examinations, documenting findings in the laboratory information system, and ensuring that all work complies with relevant standards and regulations.

The analyst collaborates with other lab personnel to maintain quality control procedures, calibrate equipment, and uphold safety protocols in the lab. The position also involves clear communication of results to internal stakeholders and support in report preparation and data review.

Qualifications
  • Technical laboratory skills in sample preparation, microscopic analysis (e.g., PLM or PCM), and data recording for asbestos or related environmental testing.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards (such as EPA, OSHA, and AIHA guidelines) and commitment to strict quality assurance procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to follow standardized methods and protocols consistently.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and collaboration with laboratory colleagues.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in a laboratory environment, adhering to all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology) or equivalent laboratory experience in asbestos or environmental analysis.
  • Experience in environmental or industrial hygiene laboratories is preferred; relevant certifications in asbestos analysis are a plus.
