- Assist the Lieutenant and above in administering the operation of the Agency Search Team.
- Conduct routine, unannounced, and/or pre-scheduled searches/shakedowns of inmates, staff, and visitors within the confines of correctional institution living areas or grounds.
- Be knowledgeable of the logging and accountability process of contraband items, i.e. chain of custody and disciplinary procedures.
- Ensure that on a weekly basis, a completed leave and attendance is submitted.
- Be available for recall in emergency and non-emergency situations that require additional personnel.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule in order to work various time frames.
- Remain thoroughly familiar with all policies governing contraband control, searches, property, visitation, etc.
- Perform job-related duties as directed by your supervisor.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Division Director of Security or Designee.
Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDC
Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and eighteen (18) months experience in correctional, security, military, or police work.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position
