Enlighten is looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer with a strong background in Cloud technologies (AWS), proficiency in Go programming, and hands‑on experience with Kubernetes. In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in advancing innovative technology solutions. You will work independently, swiftly addressing and resolving issues while aligning with broader strategic objectives.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- The Control Plane team supports the platform that other teams deploy their services to and delivers a solid product to our customers.
- Collaborate with engineers from other teams to build new features and capabilities.
- Implement platform services in Kubernetes.
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on solutions.
- Debug and troubleshoot critical technical issues.
- Mentor new team members, both junior and senior.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Work with a distributed team of experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with other engineering, QA and documentation teams to execute on product deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned.
- U.S. Government Secret level clearance desired but not required to start; will be processed for a Secret clearance if one is not currently held. U.S. citizenship required.
- Relevant experience: 9 years with a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years with a Master’s, 10 years with a Ph.D. or J.D., or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years.
- Professional and in-depth experience with Go, with strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong systems integrator with an eye for optimizing and enhancing existing code bases.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes and its ecosystem (service meshes, scalability, volume management, etc.).
- Experience working in a Kubernetes‑based environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining APIs.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and modern cloud tools (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and scripting proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1–2 days per week in Greenville, SC, with flexibility for schedule changes.
- Experience with Kubernetes Operators/Controllers development.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and inter‑service communication.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Lab‑CI).
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard development tools (Youtrack, Git Lab, Nexus, etc.).
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
