Construction Superintendent

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations and oversee commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through completion. This role is ideal for a proven field leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and with exceptional quality.

Initial projects will be located in the Greenville, SC area, with future opportunities to oversee projects throughout North and South Carolina.

The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for all on-site construction activities, serving as the primary field leader on assigned projects. This individual will coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship throughout all phases of construction.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing commercial construction projects and possess the leadership skills necessary to drive project success while maintaining strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, architects, and project teams.

• Manage all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager.
• Conduct daily site coordination and weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality expectations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues to minimize schedule impacts.
• Maintain project documentation including daily reports, safety records, inspections, and punch lists.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and turnover activities.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and local jurisdictions.
• Lead project logistics, site planning, and sequencing efforts.
• Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture focused on accountability and teamwork.

• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
• Proven experience leading ground-up and major renovation projects in the $40M and above range
• Experience in one or more of the following sectors: K-12 Education, Multifamily Apartments, Senior Living, Industrial / Manufacturing, Commercial, Institutional, or Mixed-Use Construction
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple trades and maintaining project schedules.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and project reporting tools.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Carolinas as project needs evolve.
