Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a dedicated and student-focused 3rd Grade RLA Teacher for Crockett Elementary. The ideal candidate is committed to strong literacy instruction, data-driven decision-making, and fostering a positive classroom environment that supports student growth and achievement.
Primary Purpose
Plan and deliver effective Reading Language Arts instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) to promote student mastery of grade-level standards and prepare students for academic success.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with Core Subjects EC 6 or appropriate elementary certification
- Must meet all Texas Education Agency (TEA) certification and assignment requirements
- Knowledge of TEKS and evidence-based literacy instructional practices
- Strong understanding of reading comprehension, writing instruction, and vocabulary development
- Ability to use formative and summative data to guide instruction
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Elementary teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching Reading/Language Arts preferred
Instruction & Curriculum
- Develop and implement engaging RLA lessons aligned with TEKS and district curriculum
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Prepare students for state and district assessments
- Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Promote literacy development and a love of reading
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and campus staff
- Participate in PLCs, professional development, and faculty meetings
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district and TEA requirements
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of instructional technology
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain emotional control
- Support student literacy during a critical academic year
