Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Assistant Principal to support leadership and daily operations at a secondary campus. This position assists the Principal in fostering a positive learning environment, promoting academic success, and ensuring effective campus management.
Primary Purpose
Assist the campus Principal in providing instructional leadership, campus management, and student support in alignment with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, district goals, and campus expectations.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Valid Texas Principal certification (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and secondary school operations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze student performance data and support instructional improvement
- Knowledge of student discipline, behavior management, and Student Code of Conduct
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of three years teaching experience required
- Leadership experience at the secondary level preferred
Instructional Leadership
- Support implementation of campus instructional programs aligned with TEKS and district curriculum
- Assist with monitoring student achievement data and supporting instructional improvement
- Participate in teacher observations, feedback, and professional growth processes
- Assist in managing daily campus operations, including scheduling, supervision, and logistics
- Support implementation of campus policies and procedures
- Ensure a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment
- Support student discipline and behavior management in accordance with district policies
- Implement restorative practices and intervention strategies
- Work with students, parents, and staff to address behavioral concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and campus staff
- Support staff development and campus initiatives
- Assist in building a positive campus culture
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders
- Support campus events and activities
- Participate in professional development and district leadership meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and campus supervision
- Work indoors and outdoors as needed
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain emotional control
- Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations
- Support leadership of a secondary campus
