Greenville ISD Compensation Plan Overview
Support classroom teachers by assisting bilingual students in accessing instruction and developing language skills. This role provides instructional, language, and classroom support to help students succeed academically and socially in an English-learning environment.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required
Ability to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate (certification may be obtained through the District)
Bilingual proficiency required (Spanish/English)
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in both languages
Experience working with children preferred (school or educational setting desirable)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional & Language Support
Assist teachers with classroom instruction for bilingual and emergent bilingual students
Provide language support in English and Spanish to help students understand lessons and assignments
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instruction and vocabulary development
Support implementation of bilingual/ESL instructional strategies as directed
Student Support & Supervision
Help supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, lunch, recess, transitions)
Assist students with classroom routines, expectations, and behavior
Communicate student needs or concerns to the teacher promptly
Classroom & Administrative Support
Assist with preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays
Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
Support administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and record-keeping
Assist substitute teachers as needed
Family & Campus Communication
Support communication with parents when appropriate, serving as a language resource
Promote a positive connection between home and school
Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in staff development, trainings, and meetings
Support campus events and activities as assigned
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success
Physical & Mental DemandsFrequent standing, walking, bending, and light lifting of classroom materials
Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain emotional control in a busy environment
