We are in search of an Engineering Aide to join our diverse and fast-paced organization. As a core team member, you will assist in our engineering team’s success by setting up work in our Utility client’s Work Management System. The aspects of day-to-day or week-to-week execution may vary, but will focus on technical and administrative tasks associated with bringing high-quality distribution engineering deliverables to our clients.

Engineering Aide Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Interact with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in performing field inspections, engineering design work and calculations.
- Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and 3rd party owners for joint-owned poles.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.
- Assisting with hiring and on on-board process of new employees.
- Setup and Creation of New work in Leidos and Clients Work Management Systems.
- Assisting engineering and project managers with Project Analysis
- Assisting the Engineering Manager and Section Director with local administration tasks
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School diploma required;
Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related field is preferred; less than 2 years of relevant distribution experience - Ability to perform both office work and field work, which includes outdoor environments
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to utilize personal vehicle (Some job related travel may be anticipated, and will be reimbursed at IRS approved rates)
Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:
Previous Experience in utilities and permitting
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
Collaborative attitude and inclusivity of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations
Ability to work with limited supervision
Compensation:
$25/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
