Job Description & How to Apply Below
An employer in Greenville, TX is seeking three experienced Stress Analysis Engineers to support complex aircraft modification and certification programs in Greenville, TX. This role is ideal for engineers who bring strong fundamentals, adaptable analysis skills, and leadership mindset, and who are comfortable working outside of rigid OEM‑specific tool chains. Engineers who enjoy technical leadership and mentorship, not solely independent analysis work, will be a great fit for this role.
We are specifically interested in engineers who can build and apply structural analysis tools and methods independently, rather than relying solely on proprietary OEM methodologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform classical hand analysis and develop finite element models (Nastran/Femap) to predict internal loads, displacements, and stresses for complex aircraft structures
- Analyze major structural modifications to fuselage structure on FAA‑certified (14 CFR Part 25) fixed‑wing transport or business jet aircraft
- Generate free‑body diagrams, calculate internal loads, and perform static strength assessments using industry‑standard methods
- Collaborate closely with design engineers to develop aircraft modifications and installations that meet FAA and military airworthiness requirements
- Develop structural test plans, post‑process test data, and establish allowable strength data
- Document structural analyses in formal compliance reports supporting certification and airworthiness findings
- Manage assigned tasks to stay within scope, budget, and schedule
- Mentor, guide, and technically lead other engineers performing structural/stress analysis
- Estimate engineering labor hours for bids and manage labor forecasts for a small team of stress engineers
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or related engineering field
- 8+ years of experience performing aircraft structural / stress analysis, with emphasis on fuselage structures
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated experience with structural analysis of major aircraft modifications on FAA‑certified (14 CFR Part 25) fixed‑wing transport or business jet airplanes
- Advanced proficiency using MSC Nastran and Femap for static strength and stress analysis
- Strong ability to apply classical analysis methods and independently develop analysis approaches and tools
- Experience working in non‑OEM or mixed‑platform environments, where engineers must adapt methods rather than rely on a single proprietary process
- Working knowledge of FAA and military airworthiness requirements related to static strength
- Experience reviewing engineering design data using CAD and PLM software
- Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear, defensible technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
