Responsibilities- Participate in the design of detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations.
- Apply basic engineering design and analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design.
- Research, develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
- Designs will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers.
- Work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
- Ability to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.
- Understand basic aircraft systems.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Willingness and ability to travel is needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience designing detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical system installations.
- Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of experience designing detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical system installations.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of experience designing detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical system installations.
- Minimum 2 years CAD skills (NX/Unigraphics preferred, ProE, Catia).
- Must be a US citizen.
- Active DoD security clearance.
