Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician located in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, South Carolina area. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing high-quality patient care. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient workups, performing diagnostic tests, preparing exam rooms and equipment, assisting during procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records. The technician will work closely with the clinical team to support efficient practice operations and deliver an excellent patient experience.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in conducting patient workups, vision testing, and diagnostic procedures such as OCT, visual fields, and corneal topography
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and medical team members
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and equipment, as well as proper sterilization and maintenance procedures
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for efficient patient documentation and record-keeping
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a compassionate and patient-focused approach
  • Relevant experience or certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
