Operations Manager
Responsible for the effective performance of a 130-person 24/7 injection molding and compression blow forming manufacturing operation with sales of approximately $31 million.
Primary Functions- Lead and manage plant operations to meet all processes, product, and quality standards while fulfilling contractual and customer requirements.
- Full ownership for the profit & loss (P&L).
- Measure, analyze, and report weekly manufacturing KPI performance on safety, quality, OTD, cost, throughput, and waste. Identify opportunities and risks and direct changes/actions to achieve business goals.
- Foster a positive employee relations environment while promoting a safe and healthy workplace to minimize accidents and serious incidents.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for both direct and indirect reports, creating a culture of extreme ownership in accountability, integrity, and alignment with divisional goals.
- Drive Operational Excellence initiatives and implement visual management strategies to reduce operational costs and support continuous improvement to be the low-cost producer.
- Lead business reviews with sales, inventory, and operations planning for the Springfield site.
- Analyze daily production metrics against established standards, implementing corrective actions to meet productivity and efficiency targets.
- Oversee capital budgeting, including project justification, budget creation, AFE preparation, and accountability for execution.
- Direct annual budgeting processes, targeting cost reductions, performance improvements, workforce development, and capital planning.
Collaborate with Finance to evaluate cost variances and drive actions to achieve or exceed unit cost objectives.
Key Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or Engineer or equivalent experience.
- 5 years previous operations experience managing employees.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience managing business operations of $10M sales or greater.
- Demonstrated successful production and quality management experience.
- Proactivity in identification and execution of manufacturing and personal improvements,
- Demonstrated proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Principals – 5S, Gemba, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, SMED, etc.

Environment: Normal manufacturing environments; work with machinery and media in or around confined spaces; exposure to chemicals, grease and oils.
Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing; standing for moderate periods of time.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Other: Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
