Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Machinist or Machinist Apprentice located in the Greenville–Spartanburg–Anderson, South Carolina area. The individual in this role will set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and materials, performing accurate measurements, and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and tolerances.
The Machinist or Apprentice will also inspect finished parts, document work performed, and collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes. Routine equipment cleaning, basic maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards are essential parts of this position.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, & work instructions, with strong basic math and measurement skills.
- Experience (or training for apprentices) in operating manual and CNC machines, including setup, tool selection, and basic program adjustments.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and quality inspection practices.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as drilling, milling, turning, and basic fabrication; experience with specialty or prototype work is a plus.
- Commitment to safe work practices, housekeeping, and proper use of personal protective equipment in a shop environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures; prior apprenticeship, technical training, or vocational education in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work full-time on-site in the Greenville–Spartanburg–Anderson, SC area.
