Overview

The Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot involves keeping the store stocked and ready for business. Associates load and unload trucks, move material from the receiving area throughout the store, may operate forklifts, and may perform critical functions to maintain proper on-hands and pricing for customers. Direct customer interaction is frequently required and excellent customer service skills are needed. The Freight/Receiving positions may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, and Receiving Support.

• Load and unload trucks and move material from the receiving area throughout the store.
• Operate forklifts where applicable and ensure safe handling of merchandise.
• Maintain accurate on-hands and pricing for customers.
• Provide direct customer interaction and deliver excellent customer service.
• Support various roles within Freight/Receiving as needed (e.g., Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, Receiving Support).

• Customer service skills and ability to interact with customers in a store environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to operate forklifts where required and to follow safety procedures.
