The Maintenance Mechanics assigned to the Greenville, IL Plant will perform the maintenance activities associated with the upkeep, repair/replacement of all manufacturing equipment and grounds.

• Repairs and maintenance to physical structures using hand and power tools
• Repairs to drywall, wood, masonry and steel structures
• Repair and maintain plant structure and equipment
• Repairs on all piping, drains, air handling and HVAC equipment
• Perform mig, tig, stick and silver soldier welds
• Operate plasma and oxy./act. torch cutting
• Make repairs to tools and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Perform housekeeping duties to assure that work areas are neat and clean
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures and regulations
• Participate and support the site’s safety and quality programs/policies
• Apply knowledge of electronic, electrical circuits
• Trace circuits, interpret wiring schematics
• Understand boiler water chemistry
• Able to use hand‑held test instruments to calibrate critical process instruments
• Work overtime when necessary to complete job duties

• Education:
  
  2-year certification in an industrial maintenance field or 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance field – must pass qualification testing
• Experience:
  
  Good mechanical aptitude is required

• Must complete all tasks in a professional manner
• Must have good oral and written communication skills

• Willingness to attend training classes to acquire knowledge necessary to perform job duties

This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Approximately 100% of time will be spent in the production/maintenance environment. The job involves sitting, walking, standing, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting objects up to 40 pounds. The job involves clarity of vision at 20 inches or less with the ability to bring objects into sharp focus. May need the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.

May have exposure to chemicals including acids, bases, organic solvents and inorganic compounds. Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling. May require wearing a respirator or dust mask.

This position will spend approximately 100% of their time in a production environment handling material.
